White Pumpkin

ABOUT THE ART:

Fall. It’s a time where the heat and lazy days of summer is replaced with tradition and sentimentality. I love everything Fall: crisp, cool breezes, changing leaves, decorations and picking out the perfect pumpkin, just to name a few. The pumpkin is a constant feature of fall – from beginning of September to the end of November. It’s a symbol of abundance, gratitude and prosperity, as well as, a healthy amount of fear; the promise of an abundant harvest, gratitude for all the blessings for the year, and the promise of prosperity for the coming seasons. The pumpkin is also a reminder of the fear that the what we have comes with Halloween. Fall was once the most feared of all the seasons. It was a reminder that winter was on the way and there was a desperation that the fall harvest would not bring enough food to last the long, dark winter long.

I love this piece and love to keep displayed all year long as, not only a reminder that another fall season is on the way, but also that abundance and prosperity is all around me.

This piece is sealed with a high-grade, epoxy resin, with UV protection to protect against sunlight and fading. The piece is signed on the lower right and is backed with a 1/8″ thick black felt to add stability and protect the piece from chipping or breaking.
