When we were kids summer meant vacation and our vacations always had something to do with water – water in a pool, the lake or the ocean – it didn’t matter. Splashing around in the water with the radio playing around in the background was the best way to pass the heat of the day. Music always seemed to be playing during the summer and one of my favorite songs was Seals and Crofts Summer Breeze. Whenever I hear that song I always think of waves crashing on the sand and summer vacation.

That is the inspiration for this painting Summer Breeze. Living in Indiana I don’t get to the beach that often but a few years ago my family took a trip to the Indiana Dunes on Lake Michigan and I was mesmerized by the feeling of being on the ocean. In fact the Great Lakes are often called inland oceans because they are so vast.

So if you are looking for a unique gift for a loved one or even for yourself to relive those summer vacations that we love so much. Summer Breeze is an original, hand-painted 5-sided ceramic tile, painted in acrylics and is framed and ready to hang. The frame is textured white wood in a hexagonal shape. The ceramic tile is 5″ on each side in a distressed white 1 1/4″ wide solid wood frame and the finished piece is 8″ x 9″ at the widest point. It is a small piece that is a perfect addition to your summer decor.

This piece is sealed with a high-grade, epoxy resin, with UV protection to protect against sunlight and fading. The piece is signed on the lower right and is backed with a 1/8″ thick black felt to add stability and protect the piece from chipping or breaking.
