ABOUT THE ART:

Lovely Lady Liberty… That beautiful and regal face has greeted scores of people from around the world for more than 100 years as a beacon for freedom and liberty around the world.

As a child I always associated the Statue of Liberty with July 4th, mainly because there was always a huge fireworks show on the 4th from Liberty Island. The sight of thousands of fireworks exploding in a shower of light over that regal face created an amazing image of what America was all about: not just independence, but also family, apple pie and all things Americana. Patriotism is so important because it gives one a sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves. That’s why I was inspired to create this piece.

The last few years chaos has become the normal way of life. It has become fashionable to hate America and all it stands for. We’ve taken the pride out of work, family and bettering ourselves and replaced it with discontent and shame. This piece was created to remind me every day that I live in the greatest country in the world and that I should never take for granted any opportunity or freedom that has been given to me. It’s a blessing that has been denied to so many.

“Lovely Lady Liberty” is an original acrylic painting hand painted on a 12″ x 12″ Ceramic Tile. Painted in shades of blue and green, this beautiful piece looks great displayed inside or outside, or permanently installed so that you can be reminded of American pride and patriotism all year long. This is a unique and original piece of art that I am excited to share with you and makes an amazing statement piece for your home.

Each of my tiles are primed with 2-3 coats of gesso, painted in acrylics and is finished with epoxy resin, making it a very versatile piece that is heat, cold and moisture resistant.

This piece is backed by a thick layer of black felt. This gives the tile extra stability but care is needed because it is ceramic tile and capable of breaking.

To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.

Please Note: I try to photograph in the best lighting possible, so colors can vary based on the electronic devise. Some photos are taken without resin applied because lighting can sometimes cause a glare to the tiles. But, rest assured, your finished piece will have a beautiful, shiny resin finish.
